Design equations based on micro/macromixing theoretical analysis of RTD curves for a tubular concentric electrochemical reactor with expanded meshes as electrodes

In the present work, liquid flow pattern in a Tubular Electrochemical Reactor (TC-ECR) with concentric cylindrical expanded meshes as electrodes and inlet/outlet distributors of shower‑sprinkler type was evaluated. It found that CFD theoretical results describe experimental F(t)-curves obtained methodology “step-signal input”. Later, estimated for each reactor zone were adequately approximated global parametric models development TER design equations. The Stagnant Zone Model mass exchange anodic turns out to be adequate shell zone. However, cathode anode meshes, Axial Dispersion between them proves appropriate. For all rates (0.37 4.0 L min-1), dispersion numbers (Nd) are magnitude order small dispersion. This confirms incorporation T-ECR improve considerably behaviour. methodology, coupled micro/macromixing analysis RTD curves CFD, can good alternative design.
